AMC, steering panels to be set up for faster resolution of NPAs: FM Piyush Goyal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, his government is trying to change the lives of farmers as well as soldiers through various schemes. Addressing a Kisan Kalyan Rally at Malout in Muktsar district of Punjab, Mr Modi said, the NDA government at the Centre has hiked the Minimum Support Price of Kharif crops by 200 rupees per quintal for the benefit of farmers.

Mr Modi said, his government also cleared the long-pending One Rank One Pension scheme for the Army personnel.The Prime Minister criticised the Congress for doing nothing for the farmers of the country for the last 70 years. Mr Modi also thanked the farmers for the filing the food bowl of the country.

Earlier, Mr Modi had said in a tweet that the farmers of Punjab have an invaluable contribution in the growth of the country’s agriculture sector.

The rally comes in the backdrop of recored increase in the Minimum Support Price for the kharif crops and the Prime Minister’s promise to double farmers’ income by 2022.

Union Ministers Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Vijay Sampla, former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Shiromani Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, Punjab BJP Chief Shwet Malik and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar are among those attending the rally.
