Kim says denuclearisation dependent on ceasing antagonism

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has said, ridding the Korean Peninsula of nuclear weapons is dependent on Washington and Pyongyang ceasing moves that antagonise each other.

Quoting Kim, the North’s state media said, in order to achieve peace and stability of the peninsula, the two countries should commit themselves to refraining from antagonising each other out of mutual understanding.

The state-run KCNA news agency said, yesterday’s historic meeting between Kim and US President Donald Trump marked a radical switchover in the two nations’ fraught relations.

The agency said, Kim invited the US President to come to Pyongyang at a convenient time and Mr Trump also invited the North Korean leader to visit the US.

The two leaders accepted each other’s invitation, saying that it would serve as another important occasion for improved relations between the two countries.
