US President Trump & North Korean leader Kim Jong Un set to arrive in Singapore for historic summit

US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un are expected to reach Singapore today ahead of their historic summit on Tuesday.

The US delegation, en route from the G7 meeting in Canada, will arrive in the evening, and Mr Trump is set to meet with Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong tomorrow. The delegation includes Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, National Security Adviser John Bolton and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Kim’s private jet departed Pyongyang this morning and is reported to have headed to Singapore. South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency said Kim is expected to arrive in the afternoon at the Changi airport.

The North Korean delegation includes Kim’s close aide, Kim Chang Son, who is already in Singapore to prepare for the talks.
