Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to get married in St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle of United Kingdom today

Prince Harry and actress Meghan Markle are all set to tie the knot at a wedding ceremony in St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle of United Kingdom today. The wedding will be telecast live across the world at around 4:30 PM Indian time.

The bride will be coming with her mother, Doria Ragland, and be walked down the aisle by Harry’s father, Prince Charles, to exchange her wedding vows at the altar.

After an hour-long ceremony, which will include hymns and readings, the newly-weds will take a tour of Windsor city centre in a traditional open-top Ascot landau horse-drawn carriage.

As many as 100,000 people are expected to line the streets of Windsor, around 41 kms from London, hoping to catch a glimpse of the newly-wed couple.

Over 2,500 people are expected to be among the invited guests. Around 30 members of the royal family including Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh will be part of the formal wedding party.

Four Indian women from Myna Mahila Foundation, will be among this guests. The Mumbai charity is among six others that have been chosen by the royal couple as beneficiaries of donations in lieu of wedding presents.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, a close friend of Meghan, will also be present at the wedding.Queen Elizabeth II has bestowed the title of Duke and Duchess of Sussex on her grandson, Prince Harry, and his bride.

As per British tradition, the monarch bestows male members of her royal family a title on their wedding day. A dukedom is the highest rank in the British peerage and comes from the Latin word dux, meaning leader.
