Afghanistan: At least 5 soldiers, 4 policemen killed in Taliban attacks

In Afghanistan, at least 5 soldiers and 4 policemen were killed in Taliban attacks today. Five soldiers lost their lives when their checkpoint was attacked in Farah province. The Provincial Governor’s spokesman, said, two soldiers were also injured in an attack in the Bala Buluk district. He said, six Taliban terrorists were killed and three were wounded in the battle, which lasted for several hours.

In another attack in Ghazni province, 4 policemen were killed and seven injured in Jaghatu district. Spokesman for the Provincial Governor said, the attack took place when the insurgents targeted a security post belonging to the local police force.

The attack came following a suicide bombing by the Islamic State terror group at a voter registration center in Kabul on Sunday, that killed 60 people. It also came following the attacks by Taliban in western Afghanistan that claimed the lives of 18 soldiers and policemen yesterday.
