Earthquake measuring 6 magnitude hits Iran-Iraq border

In Iran, an earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter Scale shook the Kermanshah province on border region of Iran and Iraq today, causing panic a month after a major quake killed hundreds of people there.

The state broadcaster, quoting the head of the crisis management cell in Kermanshah province,said there were no reports of damage or deaths. Tehran’s seismology centre said the epicentre of the quake was in Iraq’s Halabja, some 20 kilometres north of the Iranian town of Ezgeleh in Kermanshah province.
