Unbelievable! Apple iPhone 5s to come at just Rs 15,000 in India?

New Delhi: In a bid to further expand its reach in Indian smartphone market, Apple is likely to reduce the price of its iPhone 5s at an unimaginative price, a news paper report has said.

A report in the Economic Times said that Apple “will likely price the four-year-old iPhone 5s around Rs 15,000 apiece as part of an online-exclusive retailing strategy”.

Citing senior industry executives, ET said that “distributors have already informed the brick-and-mortar cellphone stores that iPhone 5s supplies will be eased out, and that the model would be sold only online – at an aggressive price point.”

Apple iPhone 5s currently sells at Rs 20,000 in India with some online retailers like Flipkart and Snapdeal at Rs 17,499.

The 5S features a 4-inch, 1136 x 640 Retina display boasting a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch, coupled with a brightness rating of 500 nits and a contrast ratio of 800:1.

Apple brings a better iSight rear camera and FaceTime HD front-facing shooter to the 5S. The iSight camera comes with 8-megapixels, aperture (f/2.2) and pixel size of 1.5µm.
