WhatsApp testing preview feature for forwarded messages: Report

New Delhi: Instant messaging app WhatsApp is testing a new feature in its app that will allow you to preview forwarded messages.

WABetaInfo, a popular website that tracks WhatsApp, said that the feature is available in Android beta version 2.18.325.

It said that the new preview feature will give you a pop up message before you forward an item, allowing you to take the final decision before sending it across.

WABetaInfo said that the preview feature is currently available for sending forwards to two or more contacts only. It has tweeted:

WhatsApp beta for Android 2.18.325: when you forward a message or media to two or more chats, WhatsApp will show you a preview before forwarding the item, so you can confirm or cancel the operation.

Last month WABetaInfo also reported that WhatsApp is working out on three new features, including linking your account to Instagram, Vacation and Silent Mode.

Tapping Instagram, after inserting your credentials, your WhatsApp account will be correctly linked to your Instagram profile, it added.

The Linked Accounts option will be located under your profile settings. With the Vacation Mode feature, archived chats won’t be unarchived if you have previously muted them.

The option will be available in WhatsApp Settings and then Notifications. The silent mode feature for Android allows to hide the app badge for muted chats.

The Facebook-owned messaging app is also reportedly planning to allow advertisements to be displayed in the “Status” section of the app,

According to previous media reports, the advertisements would be powered ny Facebook’s native advertising system and would be aimed at helping users understand and participate in businesses using the messaging app.
