Google-owned video streaming platform’s worldwide outage sparked a flurry of comments on social media, even prompting police departments to tweet.
“Yes, our @YouTube is down, too. No, please don’t call 911 – we can’t fix it,” tweeted the Philadelphia Police.

Reasons why #YouTubeDOWN (according to Twitter):
-The FBI is temporarily seizing the website because of child porn presence.
-Pakistan fried the servers while trying to block YouTube from its country.

YouTube posted a message on their Twitter handle: “Thanks for your reports about YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Music access issues. We’re working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated.
The website was restored by 8:15 am IST. The company is yet to issue a statement on the reason behind the massive outage.
