WATCH: MI batsman Kieron Pollard deliberately plays culprit to retain strike by running one run short against KXIP

New Delhi: Kieron Pollard almost won the match for Mumbai Indians against the visiting Kings XI Punjab in their IPL match at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

The West Indian remained unbeaten on 50 off 24 balls with the help of a four and five sixes. But there was one moment during the match when Pollard seemed to have deliberately ran short to keep the strike.

Needing 16 runs in the last over, Mumbai needed Pollard to take the majority of the strike, but the first ball presented a realistic chance of running two with his partner Harbhajan Singh showing more than enough intent.

But Pollard, returning for the second run, didn’t reach the crease and the umpire called one short.
