New Delhi: The Gujarat Lions captain Suresh Raina produced a special fielding effort to send back Delhi Daredevils batsman Rishabh Pant, during their IPL match on Wednesday at Kanpur.
Defending 195, the Lions needed early wickets. In the second over, they got the wickets of Sanju Samson and Pant. Samson was bowled by Pradeep Sangwan, thanks to a play-on; but Pants’s wicket displayed the skipper’s brilliant presence of mind.
Pant was caught up in a LBW confusion off the fifth delivery in the second over, and in a moment of brain-fade, he forgot to plank his bat inside the crease even as Raina, fielding at slip, hit the wickets with a direct throw.

In the first leg of the fixture, the 19-year-old played a brilliant knock of 97 runs to help Delhi chase down Gujarat’s 208 with ease.
