Confirm India’s tour to South Africa else won’t extend players’ participation in IPL: CSA tells BCCI

New Delhi: Cricket South Africa (CSA) has asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to confirm about Indian cricket team’s tour to South Africa at the end of the year, failing which, it won’t extend its players participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

According to a report in The Times of India, Haroon Lorgat, CSA’s chief executive has written a letter to the Indian board regarding the same. However, CSA’s request seems to have had no affect on the BCCI.

“I didn’t even bother to communicate. We will communicate when the time is right,” Johri told TOI.

CSA’s request came after the deadline for South African cricketers’s participation in the IPL 2017 came to an end on May 8.

Not to forget, the South African board had voted against the BCCI at the recently concluded ICC Board Meeting where the Indian board was stumped by other members.

The report added that while CSA wants Indian team to tour South Africa around the time of The Boxing Day Test, Virat Kohli’s men might tour South Africa in January and not this year.

Ab de Villiers, David Miller, JP Duminy and Quinton de Kock are some of the key players who play for different franchises in the Indian Premier League.
