Glenn Maxwell-led Kings XI Punjab eye nothing less than two points as they take on Gautam Gambhir’s rampat KKR side, who too would look to avoid complecancy in a bid to finish in top two spots of the IPL 2017 points table.

To book a place in the play offs, Punjab not just need to win their remaining three matches but also want Sunriers Hyderabad or Rising Pune Supergiant to lose all of their remaining matches. However, a win today for KKR would seal play-offs positions, with the current top 4 as the final teams to progress in the next round.

One of the most troublesome decisions for Maxwell as captain would be replacing Hashim Amla, who has left the competition for South Africa’s ODI series against England. Matt Henry, Darren Sammy remaining the possible replacements for the Proteas star.

For Gambhir, meanwhile, a return of Robin Uthappa seems likely.
