WATCH: Travis Head overshadows MS Dhoni, hits IPL 10’s longest six at Chinnaswamy Stadium

New Delhi: Aussie talent Travis Head on Sunday set the Indian Premier League (IPL) on fire with some sensational hitting in the Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders match at Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The 23-year-old RCB player needed to rebuild the innings with Mandeep Singh after yet another disappointing outings from the so-called ‘Big Three’, comprising Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.

After a quiet start, Head adopted a destructive avatar late in the RCB innings. But the real carnage happened in the last over, bowled by Umesh Yadav, who had earlier removed both Gayle and Kohli.

He hit the third ball of the over for a six, which went for 109 metres, over long-on. The ball hit one of the flood-light pillars and dropped inside the ground. And it’s the longest six of this IPL season. It was followed by another six, before finishing the innings with a four.

The ball didn’t land on the roof of the stadium, but the effort sure overshadowed the monster six hit by Mahendra Singh Dhoni at the same venue last month.

Head remained unbeaten on 75 off 47 balls with the help of three fours and five sixes. His effort gave some respectivility to the RCB total.
