New Delhi: Delhi Daredevils’ Rishab Pant won massive praise from cricket fraternity by pulling off a sensational chase against Gujarat Lions in Match 42 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017. The 19-year-old caused carnage at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium during his 43-ball 97 and gave spectators entertainment worth their money.
Chasing an imposing 208-run total, Pant and Sanju Samson (61 off 31 balls) literally toyed with the Lions bowling attack by stitching a massive 143-run stand for second wicket in no time. It was raining boundaries and sixes when these two were at the crease and skipper Suresh Raina had no answer to their brute power.
Pant, who missed out on his maiden IPL ton by just three runs, was lauded by the stalwarts of the game. Here are some of the best reactions:
Sachin Tendulkar: “One of the best Innings I have seen in the IPL & that includes all 10 seasons. @RishabPant777.”

Unperturbed by the fall of Samson`s wicket in the 14th over, Pant continued to beat the leather but with three runs short of his century, the left-hander was sent packing by Basil Thampi.
Pant, who slammed six boundaries and nine sixes in his 43 ball innings, got a nick and wicketkeeper Karthik made no mistake to grab the ball.
With pace of the game perfectly set by the former batsmen, middle-order batsmen Shreyas Iyer (14) and Corey Anderson (18) then completed the proceeding comfortably without any hiccups.
