New Delhi: For those who keep coming up with new excuses to skip the gym every now and then, 101-year-old Man Kaur can be a true inspiration.
Passionate towards athletics, India’s inspirational athlete sprinted her way to 100m race at the Waitakere’s Trusts Arena athletics stadium at the World Masters Games in Auckland on Monday.
Wearing her special number 10001 on her gersey, India’s centenarian crossed the line in 1min 14.58sec – almost 1min 4sec short of the women’s world record for the distance.

She was guaranteed a victory being the only participant in the 100-years-and-over category at the New Zealand event, which has attracted 25,000 competitors.
Participation, not racing the clock, is the priority for Kaur, who has been dubbed the “miracle from Chandigarh” in New Zealand media.
“I enjoyed it and am very, very happy,” she told reporters via a Punjabi interpreter.
“I`m going to run again, I`m not going to give up. I will participate, there`s no full stop.”Kaur only took up athletics eight years ago, at the tender age of 93.
