IPL 2017: Hyderabad captain David Warner wins hearts for helping shoe-less Basil Thampi — WATCH

New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner has lifted the Gentleman’s game to another level by helping a shoe-less Gujarat Lions bowler Basil Thampi while completing a run.

It was indeed one of the greatest sights in world cricket, which has seen some nasty moments recently involving Indian and Australian players in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

It happened in the tenth over of the second innings, when Moises Henriques hit a ball down the ground. Thampi tried to stop it but in the process lost his shoe.

Then came Warner. Regarded as one of the fierce competitors in the sport, the Aussie stopped his run, and picked up the errant shoe and returned it to its rightful owner.

Here’s the video:

Warner scored an unbeaten 76 off 45 balls as defending champions cantered to an easy nine-wicket win over the Lions.

Earlier, Afghan wonder boy Rashid Khan took three wickets in an inspired spell to restrict the visitors to 136 runs at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad.
