New Delhi: Injury stricken Mumbai Indians prepare for their first home match of the season, taking on heavy-weights Kolkata Knight Riders who secured a dominant 10-wicket victory over Gujarat Lions in their previous game.
The MI fans will be delighted to see T20 specialist Lasith Malinga making his comeback in the squad on the back of a hat-trick against Bangladesh, although in a losing cause; but they will be saddened by the injury picked up by Ambati Rayudu.
Though form may be hinting towards another KKR victory, statistics are strongly against the Gautam Gambhir-led side which has managed to win just one match out of their previous nine battles against their Mumbai-based oppositions.
As MI look set to shuffle their squad after defeat in the previous encounter against Rising Pune Supergiant, fans might be seeing veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh making a comeback in the squad.
KKR, meanwhile, will have the Bangladesh skipper and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan back in their ranks, further boosting their bowling and batting options.
