West Indies opener Evin Lewis destroys Pakistan with nine MONSTER sixes — WATCH

New Delhi: It seems West Indies have found another big hitting talent, who can destroy any attack in the world.

During third Twenty20 International at Queen’s Park Oval, yesterday, a certain Evin Lewis made a mockery of Pakistan bowlers by hitting as many as nine sixes, majority of those are monsters.

Batting first, and already 2-0 up in the four-match series, Pakistan posted 137. It looked a good score, considering Pakistan still had Shadab Khan – their teen wizard – and also West Indies’s below par scores of 111 and 129 in the previous two games.

But on Saturday, they ran in to Lewis. The 25-year-old himself had scores of 10 and 3 in those two matches.

Lewis scored 91 runs off 51 balls, which included nine sixes and five fours at a strike rate of 178.43. His effort thus earned him the record of highest individual score for a West Indies batsman against Pakistan in T20Is.

Highlight of his magnificent knock was a 98m long six, off Sohail Tanvir in the 14th over, which sailed over cow corner. The same over witnessed two more sixes and a four too, with 24 runs from it.

Yes, he’s the one who shocked India at Lauderhill last August with a 49-ball 100. Interestingly, in that knock too, he hit nine sixes and five fours. In that match, he dismantled Indian all-rounder Stuart Binny by hitting five sixes in an over.

If we may, that Binny performance resulted in Indian fans trolling the cricketer’s wife and famous anchor Mayanti Langer.

It forced Langer to issue a lengthy note to shut up the trollers.

The hastily arranged two-match T20I series in the United States was won by West Indies, 1-0, after the second match was abandoned due to bad weather.
