Australian Open Day 2 Live Updates: Novak Djokovic survived a scare to join Roger Federer and Serena Williams in the Australian Open second round as heavy downpours caused chaos on Monday, forcing organisers to postpone a swathe of matches. The postponed matches has caused a chaos on the order of play on Day 2 and organisers will hope for a smoother Day 2. Rafael Nadal and Simona Halep will be in action as well. From India, Prajnesh Gunneswaran will also compete his first round match, as it was postponed due to rain. If Prajnesh wins, he will face Novak Djokovic on Day 2.

15th seed Marketa Vondrousova is trailing to two time Grand Slam champions Svetlana Kuznetsova who is currently leading 6-2, 2-1. Kuznetsova, 34, is doing ever so well to progress into the next round.
Monfils motors on
Gael Monfils starts off with a convincing win over Lu Yen-Hsun. The French tennis star defeated Yen-Hsun is straight sets 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 to progress into the second round.
Medvedev, Tiafoe win a set each
Daniil Medvedev took the first sex 6-3 but Frances Tiafoe hit back in similar style and took the next set 6-4. The number fourth seed with have to up his game now as Tiafoe has momentum on his side.
Fognini’s epic comeback
Fabio Fognini came through an intense five-set epic at the Australian Open Tuesday in a match overshadowed by expletive-laden rants at the umpire, who was slammed as “pathetic”. The 12th seed was two sets down when his first round clash against giant American Reilly Opelka was halted by rain on Monday. They returned under blue skies on Tuesday when Fognini emerged a 3-6, 6-7 (3/7), 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (7/5) winner but with an injured hand after hitting his racquet in anger.
Nadal victorious
Easy work for Rafael Nadal as he made short work of youngster Hugo Dellien 6-2, 6-3, 6-0 as he raced to 2nd round.
Indian dream over
Prajnesh Gunneswaran’s dream of facing Novak Djokovic in the second round of the Australian Open came to a screeching halt as he suffered a 6-4, 6-2, 7-5 defeat at the hands of Japan’s Tatsuma Ito.
Thiem wins
Dominic Thiem looked in brilliant form as he rallied on to beat Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 and reach the 2nd round
Pliskova through
Karolina Pliskova faced a bit of resistance from Kristina Mladenovic at the Rod Laver Arena but the second seed was able to clinch the encounter 6-1, 7-5. She will next play either Germany’s Laura Siegemund or American wildcard CoCo Vandeweghe.
