New Delhi: Indian skipper Virat Kohli might be an inspiration for budding cricketers across the world, but the Delhi batsman has just one idol in cricket – Sachin Tendulkar.
Kohli, who has been in sensational form across formats since the beginning of 2016, recently hit his fourth double ton, which came against Bangladesh in the one-off Test played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
As wishes poured in from all corners, Tendulkar too congratulated Kohli with a special message.
“The sweet spot on your bat speaks about the awesome form you are in, don’t need scoreboards.May god always keep your bat like that @imVkohli,” the Master Blaster tweeted.

Kohli’s ton was instrumental in India’s comprehensive 208-run win over Bangla Tigers. Replying to Tendulkar’s message, Kohli tweeted, “Thanks @sachin_rt Paaji, your wishes mean the world.”

With the win against Bangladesh, Kohli not only became the first Indian skipper to win six successive series in a row, but also left behind Sunil Gavaskar (18) and Kapil Dev (17) to take India’s unbeaten run in the five-day format to 19 matches.
After 1-0 win against Bangladesh, Kohli’s side looks set to break another Indian record, that of the most unbeaten Test matches on home soil – 20, achieved between 1977-1980.
From January 28, 1977 to February 3, 1980, teams led by Bishan Singh Bedi, Gavaskar and Gundappa Viswanath stitched together an unbeaten run of 20 Test matches against England (two), West Indies (six), Australia (six) and Pakistan (six).
Indian cricket team’s next assignment is a four-match Test series against Steve Smith-led Australia, beginning from February 23.
