Indian skipper Virat Kohli was seen practising in the Adelaide Oval nets on Tuesday, ahead of the first Test against Australia at Adelaide on 6th December.

Kohli also negotiated some intense fast bowling from the pacers with great ease, ducking against bouncers whenever deemed necessary.

The batsman has been in great form recently and made his presence felt during the recently concluded T20I series against Australia with match-winning performances.

Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting recently urged the bowling attack to adopt an aggressive outlook against the cricketer in order to contain him. He also encouraged them to restrict his boundaries early on while ensuring tight, consistent bowling performances.

“With someone like him who likes to score freely, he has obviously got a big ego, there are other things you can do. Don’t let him score boundaries early on. Try and bowl tight, consistent stuff,” he said.

“He also likes to run the ball down to third man so may be play around with guys behind the wicket in different areas, just get inside his head as to what we are trying to do,” he added.
