India recorded a dominant 8-wicket win against the West Indies at Guwahati after being handed a stiff target of 323 to chase following an excellent century by Jason Hetmyer. However, Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma made mincemeat of a listless bowling performance by the West Indies bowling attack to record a comprehensive win against the visitors.

Here are the highlights:

# India 326/2 (42.1 overs)

# Victory seems like nothing short of a formality for team India at this stage with Ambati Rayadu and Rohit Sharma going about the chase in a dominant fashion. Sharma has been exceedingly mature with his gameplay, leading from the front. India 294/2 (39)

# India are well on course for a comfortable win following excellent performances by skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Sharma will be looking to ensure a comprehensive finish following the departure of Kohli. India 266/2 (34 overs)

# Virat Kohli has another unique distinction to his name as he emerges as the first ever batsman to score 2000 International runs in 2018 having brought up his 49th half century in today’s clash against the Windies.

# India are pushing on at a steady pace with Kohli and Sharma in no sort of pressure against the Windies bowling attack who are unable to pick any wickets. Virat Kohli is in stunning form with the bat and the Windies will be looking to dismiss him as soon as possible. India 104/1 (17 overs)

# Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have ensured a steady start to the Indian chase despite the early dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan with captain Kohli leading from the front. The West Indies bowlers need a breakthrough at this stage in order to put the batsmen under pressure again. India 57/1 (8 overs)

# Virat Kohli walks down early to the crease.

#Wicket! Shikhar Dhawan dismissed by Oshane Thomas who attempts to force a short delivery down the onside which proves costly as the ball ratles on to the stumps. Shikhar Dhawan 4(6), India 10/1 (2 overs)

# Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma will be looking to ensure a steady start to a chase which might go on to prove tricky in nature if not handled effectively.

That’s a wrap to the Windies’ innings.

Chase coming up in a bit. Stay tuned.

# West Indies have registered a total of 322 against India after being sent in to bat first by Indian skipper Virat Kohli who won the toss. Jason Hetmyer smashed an exciting century which set the stage for a formidable total after an uncertain start for the visitors. Devendra Bishoo and Kemar Roach went about ensuring a comprehensive finish for Windies combining aggresion with caution.

# West Indies 322/8 (50 overs)

# Devendra Bishoo and Kemar Roach look comfortable at the crease and will be looking to ensure a competitive total on the board for the visitors.

# Fast-bowler Kemar Roach is the second last batsman for the Windies!

#Wicket! Skipper Jason Holder tries to be cheeky and pays the price as an unorthodox stroke comes back to hurt him! Holder dismissed for a 42 ball 38. West Indies 278/8(43.2 overs)

# Jason Holder is set on the crease and seems all set to register a half-century himself. However, he will be wary of indulging in any false strokes after being dropped earlier on by Rishabh Pant which could have proved disastrous for the visitors. Holder will be eager to lead his side on to a total in excess of 300. West Indies 268/7 (42 overs)

# Devendra Bishoo makes his way down to the crease!

# Wicket! Ashley Nurse has been dismissed Lbw by Chahal who picks his second wicket of the night off a turning delivery which trapped him plumb. Ashley Nurse 0(2)

# Ashley Nurse walks down to the middle!

# Wicket! Ravindra Jadeja has the last laugh after being smashed to all parts of the ground by Jason Hetmyer who perishes in pursuit of another six. Hetmyer will be dissapointed after leading to lead the Windies on to a comprehensive total with skipper Jason Holder the sole reliable batsman at this stage. Shimron Hetmyer 106(78)

# Century! Jason Hetmyer brings up his hundred with a six having struggled in the recently concluded Test series against India. His knock has been invaluable in ensuring a formidable total for the West Indies who seemed all set to be bundled out for a low score at one stage. Jason Hetmyer 104(74)

# Jason Hetmyer holds the key for the Windies who will be looking to set a 300 plus total against India who enjoy a quality batting lineup. Hetmyer has been extremely confident throughout his innings and seems all set for a well-deserved century. Holder will be looking to take some quick singles and put pressure on the Indian fielders. West Indies 226/5 (36 overs)

# Captain Jason Holder makes his way down to the crease.

# Wicket! Ravindra Jadeja strikes with the ball as Rovman Powell is bowled for a 23 ball 22 after attempting a big hit. The Windies might go on to rue this decision at the end of the game. West Indies 188/5 (30.3 overs)

# Jason Hetmyer and Rovman Powell have been in good form for the Windies, with a 70-run partnership which has ensured some-needed balance into the game. The Indian bowlers seem short of ideas following a stunning performance by Hetmyer who has smashed 65 off 52 deliveries so far with valuable support from Powell as well. West Indies 188/4 (30.2 overs)

# Big-Hitter Rovman Powell is the next man in for the West Indies!

# Wicket! Shai Hope dissapoints yet again for West Indies after attempting to go for his shots off a short delivery. Wicketkeeper MS Dhoni completed a simple catch as Hope was left with no alternative other than to trudge back to the crease silently. West Indies 114.4 (21.4 overs)

# Shai Hope and Jason Hetmyer are looking increasingly uncertain against the Indian bowlers who have troubled the batsman with their movement and accuracy. It will certainly get tougher for the visitors in the coming overs with the bowlers in good form. West Indies 112/3(21 overs)

# Jason Hetmyer is the next batsman in!

# Wicket! Samuels perishes for 0 after being dismissed Lbw by Chahal. Samuels failed to effective negotiate the delivery, with the umpire in no state of confusion over the outcome. Marlon Samuels 0(2), West Indies 86/3 (15.3 overs)

# Veteran batsman Marlon Samuels is the new man on the crease!

#Wicket! Kieran Powell perishes for 51 off 39 runs as Khaleel Ahmed accounts for the batsman who seemed to be in good nick. Powell attempted to smash the ball into the stands but failed to connect properly handing an easy catch to Shikhar Dhawan. West Indies 84/2 (14.5 overs)

# 9th Half Century for Kieron Powell who also brings up his 3rd half-century against India. Kieran Powell 50(36)

# Kieran Powell seems all set for a half century with Shai Hope ensuring some valuable support from the other hand. Powell was extremely impressive for the Windies during the recently concluded Test series with confident performances at the top of the order and is continuining in the same vein. India will be looking to take a few wickets at this stage in order to counter the flow of runs. West Indies 78/1 (13 overs)

# West Indies are off to a jittery start early on having lost debutant Chanderpaul Hemraj cheaply. Kieron Powell and Shai Hope will be looking to build a steady partnersip at this stage and lead the visitors on to a steady total. West Indies 26/1 (6 overs)

# Shai Hope is the next man on the crease for the visitors.

Shami provides the first breakthrough.

The Windies debutant Hemraj departs for 9.

India recorded a whitewash in the recently concluded 2-match Test series against West Indies after a dismal campaign against England away from home where they were trounced at every stage.

Skipper Virat Kohli led from the front, ensuring dominant performances against the visitors who failed to put up much of a fight. Youngsters Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant further made their presence felt for India, scoring runs at a consistent pace with confident performances through thick and thin.

The Windies will be looking to ensure a strong fight in the limited overs format, despite the absence of proven cricketers like Chris Gayle, Andre Russell and Kieron Pollard. Batsman Evin Lewis was also recently ruled out of the limited overs squad after opting out due to personal reasons.

However, the presence of the likes of Jason Holder and experienced batsman Marlon Samuels augurs well for the Windies.

Squad:

India: Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu, Manish Pandey, MS Dhoni, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, K Khaleel Ahmed, Lokesh Rahul, Umesh Yadav.

West Indies: Jason Holder (c), Fabian Allen, Sunil Ambris, Devendra Bishoo, Chanderpaul Hemraj, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Kieran Powell, Ashley Nurse, Keemo Paul, Rovman Powell, Kemar Roach, Marlon Samuels, Oshane Thomas and Obed McCoy.
