Spartan Sports recommend brand ambassador MS Dhoni to use colored bat in IPL 10

New Delhi: Sporting gear and equipment manufacturers, Spartan Sports, have recommended their brand ambassador MS Dhoni to start using coloured bat in upcoming IPL season.

T20 cricket is known to introduce new-age style and trends in sport, be it invention of shots, weird bowling deliveries or colorful clothing.

The latest trend to join in is the usage of colored bats in franchise leagues after West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell was seen using a black bat in the KFC Big Bash League.

Cameron Merchant, the cricket manager at the Spartan Sports, was quoted saying by Deccan Chronicle, “Dhoni is more than welcome to use a colored bat (in IPL). He is such an amazing role model, influential cricketer and kids look up to him.”

Spartan have also signed Australian Michael Clarke, West Indies batsman Chris Gayle, England’s Alastair Cook and Eoin Morgan, Australian seamer Mitchell Johnson, former cricket great Sir Viv Richards as well as Sri Lanka’s woman cricketer Sripali Weerakkody. And they will be looking get these players endorse the new bats too.

“The colored bat is allowed in T20 franchise competitions around the world. Cricket Australia have allowed it with the colors to be the same majority as clubs, i.e Sydney Thunder are black and green so we can have either a full green bat or black bat,” Merchant added.

“Spartan Sports originally came up with the idea with Chris Gayle with the original coloured bat of the Golden bat in last years’ BBL,” he added.

“We thought how can we make the game even more exciting and appealing for the fans and kids and make them smile. If it gets kids enjoying the game and participating in cricket then we are happy.”
