Bangladeshi National Arrested for Passport Fraud in Chennai

In a significant arrest, the Greater Chennai Police apprehended Mohammed Mijanur Islam, a 38-year-old Bangladeshi national, for attempting to travel back to Bangladesh using a fraudulently obtained Indian passport. Discovered at the Chennai International Airport, Islam had assumed the identity of Mejanur Rahman Abul Kashim with forged documents.
Investigations revealed his illegal entry into India in 2005, followed by the fraudulent acquisition of an Aadhaar card and subsequently an Indian passport. This incident underscores the importance of stringent border control measures and the dangers of document forgery in facilitating illegal activities. Authorities have advised the public to exercise caution and adhere to official channels for passport and visa applications to prevent similar fraudulent activities in the future.
