As the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) continues its sewer pipeline-laying work in Choolai, various challenges have emerged, requiring careful planning and execution. Complicated elements, such as the presence of high-tension power cables underground, necessitate a cautious and calculated pace for the project. Due to these challenges, including the inability to employ machines and the complexity of the work, night work is not feasible.
As a result, CMWSSB has requested traffic diversions in the area to ensure the safety of workers and the smooth progress of the project. Despite these obstacles, efforts are underway to refresh the sewer network to accommodate the growing population in the area, with plans for a new pumping station to handle sewage collection and pumping operations efficiently.
