Odisha STF to Seek Seven Days Custody Of J&K Man With Suspected Terror Links

The Crime Branch in of Odisha will seek seven-day custody of an arrested Kashmiri man with suspected terror links, Sayed Ishaan Bukhari, who is currently in Ragadi sub-jail. Bukhari, however, will soon be shifted to Jaipur jail due to security reasons.

The accused Sayed Ishaan Bukhari alias Ishaan Bukhari, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district impersonated an Army doctor and senior official at the PMO, He was arrested by Special Task Force (STF) at Jaipur’s Neulpur.

STF SP Kishore Kumar Panigrahi informed media that STF is in touch with IB, and their counterparts in Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab.

He further said, “Police from those states may visit Odisha to interrogate him. Although his terror links are yet to be established, we are waiting for details from Jammu and Kashmir police.

Panigrahi also said Pakistani numbers were found in Bukhari’s mobile phone. “We are also looking into his financial transactions,” he added,

As per information received, Bukhari confessed that he was booked for cheating and forgery in Jammu and Kashmir in 2017 and a non-bailable warrant was issued against him. Following that, he has been hiding in Odisha.

The Punjab Police had also registered a case against him.

On Saturday, Odisha STF also arrested a Kashmiri youth for his suspected links with some anti-national elements.
