However, Netanyahu criticized Russia’s positions against Israel in international forums, including the recent UN Security Council vote for a Gaza ceasefire. The Kremlin stated that the leaders discussed the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, with Putin expressing rejection and condemnation of terrorism while emphasizing the need to alleviate civilian suffering and de-escalate the conflict.
They agreed to continue cooperation on evacuating Russian citizens and securing the release of Israelis in Gaza.
