The woman’s father, in his complaint, revealed that his daughter had found about Nair’s affair and had also seen his pictures with the woman

A 26-year-old man was arrested upon his return from Ukraine for abetting the suicide of his wife, who was in Maharashtra’s Kalyan.

The 25-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide upon finding out that her husband had gone to Ukraine to be with the woman, he had an illicit relationship with.

The husband, Nitish Nair, had met the woman when he used to go to Ukraine for work, a Times of India report said.

The woman’s father, Surendra Sawant, had filed a complaint in September stating that his daughter had found out about her Nair’s affair and had seen pictures of him with the woman.

According to the complaint the 25-year-old had objected to her husband’s illicit relationship and had warned her about her husband to not go to Ukraine again. But going against her words, Nair on November 8 informed her that he’s going to his office in Mumbai, but in reality had gone to Ukraine.

Upon reaching there, he messaged her informing that he had reached Ukraine and that he would not be returning home, the complaint said.

Impacted by this, the wife allegedly decided to take this extreme step and hanged herself at home.

Reportedly, the woman — before taking this extreme step — had sent texts to some of her friends informing them about what she was going to do, Kolsewadi police station officials said.

Earlier, a young couple ended their lives after hanging their four-year-old daughter in a suicide pact at their house in Warasiguda late on Thursday night.

The victims, identified as 35-year-old K Sai Krishna and his wife, 30-year-old Chithralekha along with their daughter Tejaswini were found hanging by cops after they broke down the door of their house in Gangaputra colony on Friday morning.

Police said the three names written on the wall were of employees of a group that held a science exhibition where Chitralekha had earlier worked. Krishna, on the other hand, worked as a cab driver till recently.

Three days ago, the Government Railway Police in Maharashtra’s Thane had arrested two loan recovery agents from Assam for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 34-year-old woman, an official said.

Laxana Narendra Yadav allegedly ended her life by jumping in front of a train at Diva in Maharashtra’s Thane district on July 6, senior inspector Pandhari Kande said on Wednesday.

A probe revealed she had taken a loan of Rs 19,000 through an online platform, and two recovery agents of the lender company were harassing her for repayment.

The GRP officials finally traced the accused to a village in Assam and arrested them on November 13, Kande noted. Further investigation into the case was on, police said.
