Delhi: German woman alleges molestation by landlord, police registers case

The Delhi police has registered a case against a man from Hauz Khas after his tenant alleged that she was molested by him.

According to The Pioneer, the incident allegedly happened on November 30, when the victim, a German research scholar was about to leave for her country

She had lodged a complaint with Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal on December 5. The Delhi Police filed an FIR against the landlord, identified as Amit Yadav, on December 27 under section 354(Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of woman) of the IPC at the Hauz Khas Police Station

According to her complaint, the victim’s landlord was having a conversation about with her at his house about his business but later began talking about his marital problems. “He was talking about his business which interested me a lot in regard to the research I am doing but then he switched the topic to his marital problems which made me feel awkward and I told him that I am not interested in listening about that.”

The victim then when to the bathroom which was located in Yadav’s bedroom. When she came our she was sexually assaulted by him, says the complaint.
