Ahead of assembly polls, Sakshi Maharaj blames Muslims for population boom

With the elections dates in five states being declared, BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj tried to stoke a new controversy.

As per News18, he tried to indirectly blame Muslims for population boom during a public gathering in Meerut. “Population is increased by those who support the concept of four wives and 40 children,” he said.

He also asked the Centre to implement Uniform Civil Code (UCC) at the earliest.

UP Congress leader Akhilesh Singh responded to Sakshi’s comment saying the BJP MP should be removed from the Parliament and that BJP should expel him from the party. “The BJP leader’s communal remarks are a trick to divert attention from promises made by PM Modi,” he added.
