New Delhi: At least 110 students of a girls school in southeast Delhi’s Tughlakabad area were admitted to hospital after a gas leak at a nearby customs depot on Saturday morning.
The students of Rani Jhansi Kanya Sarvodaya Vidyalaya were rushed to hospital after they complained of irritation in the eyes.
Emergency services, including seven fire tenders, 10 ambulances and one disaster management team, were rushed to the spot when the leak was reported at 7:35am.
The students were taken to Batra Hospital, Majeedia Hospital and ESI hospital and the situation was set to be stable. The leak was under control at the time of filing this report. The source of the leak, however, was not immediately known.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has directed the concerned authorities to submit a report and was scheduled to meet the affected students.
