Gautam Buddh Nagar DM issues helpline number for COVID-19 emergencies – Know details

Amid a surge in COVID-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh, the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has started a new initiative to aid people with COVID-related needs. A centralised control room has been constituted by District Magistrate Suhas LY where people can seek the following information:

1- Availability of beds (Normal and ICU)

2- Availability of oxygen

3- Availability of Remdisivir etc.

A per a statement issued from the DM’s office, this has been facilitated to help people in case of emergency. People can also dial the toll-free number 18004192211.

This development comes amid reports of a medical oxygen crisis in Noida and Greater Noida area. DM Suhas LY on Tuesday (April 20) posted two senior officers round-the-clock at Inox Air Products Pvt Ltd’s Greater Noida factory, which manufacturers and supplies medical oxygen.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government announced that all eligible people above 18 years of age will be vaccinated for free from May 1 in government hospitals. The Health Department will make preparations for this.

It is important to note that nearly one crore people in the state have received the COVID-19 vaccination with over 99,27,150 people getting inoculated which includes healthcare and frontline workers and people above the age of 45 years. 

“Vaccination of people aged above 60 and those between 45 and 60 is being conducted at a war-footing across the state in private and district hospitals, and medical colleges. Amid the massive surge in coronavirus infections across the country, Covid testing and vaccination are going on in full swing in the state,” sad a government spokesperson.
