Delhi police issue summons to TTV Dhinakaran at Chennai, return without arresting him

However, it is not clear as to when he has been asked to appear before them.

It seems AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran has nowhere to run. On Wednesday night, the Delhi Police issued summons to him in the probe relating to a case of alleged bribery of EC officials to get the two-leaves symbol allotted to his faction.

However, it is not clear as to when he has been asked to appear before them.

The summons was served to Dhinakaran at his Besant Nagar residence in Chennai by Assistant Commissioner Sanjay and another official.

Just a day earlier, the Delhi Police crime branch had issued a lookout notice against him over fears that he might to try to flee the country.

To this, Dhinakaran reacted by saying how could he flee the country when his passport was in the possession of the court for 20 years.

The Delhi police earlier filed an FIR according to which, conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar was constantly in touch with TTV Dhinakaran and had promised to use his influence in Election Commission of India to get the two-leaves party symbol matter resolved in favour of the Sasikala faction.

Sukesh was promised a sum of Rs 50 crore in return for a favourable order. A large amount that was given to Sukesh by TTV Dhinakaran has been recovered by the police, the FIR says.

The FIR was filed against TTV and Sukesh under various sections of the IPC including 120B (Criminal conspiracy), 170 (impersonating a public servant) and under Section 8 of The Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
