Dining out? Here's some great news for you

A customer dissatisfied with his dining experience can have service tax on his food bill waived

The government on Monday ruled that service charge on hotel/restaurant bills is no more compulsory, and a customer dissatisfied with his dining experience can have it waived.

Stating that service charge is voluntary, the government has now asked states to ensure that hotels and restaurants clearly display information on service charges.
