PV Sindhu clinches India Open

Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu beat Olympic and world champion Carolina Marin in the Indian Open final, in New Delhi, on Sunday. 

It was a brilliant performance from Sindhu as she won in straight sets 21-19, 21-16.

The Indian shuttler enjoyed a great run in the tournament, having beaten Saina Nehwal and Sung ji-Hyun en route to the final.

Sindhu had a good start and at one point was leading 6-1 in the first game.

Marin slowly claws back and makes the score 16-16. But Sindhu won the first game 21-19.

It was 22 pulsating minutes of badminton!

It was an explosive start for Sindhu in the second game and lead 4-0. It got close and Marin trailed 7-8. 

The Indian played with lot more confidence and led 17-13. She won the second game 21-16.

In terms of Head-To-Head Marin leads 5-4.
