Viral photos: Snowy mountains visible from Jalandhar as lockdown turns air purifier

A few days ago, DNA reported how pollution levels have come down significantly as the country goes through a complete lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. With the closure of road traffic and industries, the atmosphere has indeed become cleaner and is being purified every day.

During the lockdown, a wonderful sight was witnessed in Punjab’s Jalandhar, where white and snowy mountains can now be clearly seen in the blue sky, making it an attractive visual for people.

All credit to the 21-day countrywide lockdown due to the coronavirus, factories running across the country have stopped and the speed of the vehicles have come to zero, making the sky clear with a view of the mountains of snow.

People of Jalandhar have been climbing the rooftops of their homes since morning to see the glacier of Himachal’s white snow mountains. It might be hard to believe for many people and they might be wondering how it is possible to see something that far.

The snowy Himalayan mountains that are visible from Himachal Pradesh’s McLeod Ganj can now be seen from Jalandhar, which is 190 km away from McLeod Ganj.

Residents of Jalandhar have said that due to COVID-19, the pollution spread all over the country, including Punjab is gradually decreasing as industries and traffic have been suspended. People also said that now that air pollution is reducing due to which they are getting clean air and they might live a few years more.
