Thiruvananthapuram: Police have arrested a man and his paramour for murdering wife in Thiruvananthapuram which seems an imitation of the story from two popular South India cinema- 96 and Drishyam. The man, Premkumar and his girlfriend Sunitha Baby, murdered Vidya three months ago and buried the body in Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu.

“Both Premkumar and Sunitha were staying in Tirunelveli for two months. Once the interrogation started, they acceded to have committed the crime. Local police in the town also confirmed to have finding an unidentified corpse of a woman on September 22, the same day Premkumar had filed a man missing complaint with the police,” R Viswanath, Assistant Commissioner of Police said.

The two accused Premkumar and Sunitha were friends during their school. Both the friends have moved on with their lives before they met 25 years later during a school reunion. The meeting led to their bonding grew stronger.

Meanwhile, the marital discord between Premkumar and his wife Vidya were rife. Vidya was married before the two entered into wedlock. The two were residents of Udayamperoor in Ernakulam.

Sunitha, who was also married and a mother to three kids, was working as nursing superintendent with a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram district.

On September 22, Premkumar lodged a missing complaint of his wife with the police after killing his wife. Vidya’s mobile tower location was traced to Bihar. Premkumar had imitated the turn of events from the crime thriller ‘Drishyam’ to distract the investigators.

However, the police grew suspicious after it come to know that Premkumar was living with his girlfriend in Tirunelveli.
