Meerut: Man throws bike, burst into tears after being fined for no helmet, video goes viral

After the implementation of new traffic rules, several cases of hefty fines came into limelight. Some people had to pay a heavy fine up to Rs. 1.5 lakh for breaking traffic rules. 

A new ‘no helmet’ case from Meerut is grabbing people’s attention. A video that is going viral on social media shows a biker tossing his bike in frustration and then bursting in tears after he was issued fine for driving without a helmet. 

The video that was shared by a journalist on Twitter reportedly took place in Begum Bridge in Meerut.

The 43-second clip has been viewed on Twitter over 12,000 times and was shared frequently on Twitter as well.

In the video, the man is seen throwing his bike on one side and then the other, after he was issued a challan. After tossing the vehicle, the man sat on it and burst into tears.

In the video, the traffic police officer finally walks over to the weeping man and consoles him.

As per the latest rules of the Motor Vehicles(Amendment) Act 2019, driving without a helmet could result in a rider being fined Rs 1,000 along with the individual’s driving license being suspended for three months.
