Popular chef Narayana Reddy of ‘Grandapa Kitchen’ on YouTube passes away

Obituary
‘Grandpa’ had gained massive popularity as he would cook large amounts of food and then distribute it in orphanages.
Narayana Reddy from Telangana, who became extremely popular with this cooking channel ‘Grandpa Kitchen’ on YouTube has passed away. He had been suffering from age-related ailments for a few days.
Fondly referred to as ‘grandpa’, he passed away at his native village in the state on October 27. He had gained massive popularity as he would cook large amounts of food and then distribute it in orphanages. The YouTube channel had over 6 million subscribers, many of them from across the world.
“Loving, sharing and caring, this is my family,” grandpa is seen saying in a final tribute video posted on the channel, documenting his last rites.
In his videos that were seen by people across the globe, cooking on a firewood stove, grandpa was known for his special recipes and his versatility, whether it was making traditional biryani, or making burgers and even pizzas, without an oven.

“We entertain people by cooking food and donate the proceeds to charities. Our goal is to provide basic necessities like food, clothing, school supplies and birthday gifts to orphans,” the YouTube channel’s Patreon account states.
He was also known for his desserts, from chocolate cakes to pancakes, milkshakes and pudding.

Last week, as he was unwell, the other people behind the channel had published a few videos, as they said that grandpa wanted them to continue the work. Grandpa’s last appearance was in a live session uploaded on YouTube six days ago, where he could be seen visibly ailing.
Many also expressed their condolences at his demise.
“He is everyone’s grandpa and will forever be in our heart. He shall rest in peace,” said one user.
“This makes me really sad. One good person less on earth. Rest in peace grandpa and thank you. May your kind soul live forever,” another user added.
