Wade turns Umesh on the leg side for a single and Marsh gets another run on the off-side for a run to level scores.
In the next over, Marsh turns Ashwin on the leg side for one to give Australia the lead before the visitors pick another two singles in the over.
India take the second new ball after 92.1 overs as Ishant comes back into the attack. Marsh steers the fifth ball past the point region for a couple.
Ashwin will share the new ball with Ishant. He bowls one straight one but it slips down the leg side for four byes as wicketkeeper Saha can’t gather it.
India then appeal for a catch at first slip but umpire is not interested. Ashwin is convinced that the ball touched the bat before it bounced and went off to slip and he asks captain Kohli to take the DRS. But the replays shows that the ball clipped the top of the bat but missed the gloves and again the third umpire doesn’t take the Ultra Edge and India lose both their reviews.
Umesh comes into the attack as he replaces Jadeja from the BEML end and he strikes in the very first over of his new spell.
Marsh is struck on the pads by the incoming delivery from Umesh as the umpire rules it out leg before wicket. But Marsh takes the DRS which goes in his favour with the impact outside the line of off-stump and the on-field umpire has to reverse his decision.
Pace from both ends but India are not taking the new ball with both fast bowlers get a lot of reverse swing.
For India, the key is stopping the flow of runs as much as trying to take wickets.
Ishant bowls a good delivery which strikes Marsh on the pads and before the Indians can go up in appeal the umpire calls it a no-ball.
Marsh gets an edge which falls short of Kohli at first slip and gets him a single.
Infact, the reviews show that if Ishant hadn’t overstepped then Marsh would have been ruled out leg before wicket. A lucky escape for Australia.
Ashwin comes back as he has a huge appeal for LBW turned down and the Indians take the DRS. The decision stands as the batsman had got a big inside edge on to his pads as India waste their review.
In Ashwin’s next over, Marsh taps it on the off-side and completes a patient half-century from 162 balls.
India continue with the old ball in the post-tea session as Jadeja start off proceedings after the interval.

Ishant from the other end as he continues to bowl at a good pace and Wade is content to defend it.
Marsh gives Jadeja the charge and lofts him over mid-on for a four to take his score into the 40s.
Ishant gets Wade to edge one as it falls short of Saha who comes across but is done in by the bounce as it goes past him for a four. A few deliveries later, Wade again edges as it falls short of Kohli at first slip, who does well to stop it and concede just a single, while Marsh picks one off the last ball.

India’s bowlers continue to chip away at the wickets as Australia are reduced to 163 for five at the tea break, just 26 runs behind India’s first inning score.
India picked up three wickets for 76 runs in 35 overs in the post-lunch session to keep themselves in the hunt.
Jadeja claimed the big wicket of Renshaw, who was stumped for 60, before he had Handscomb caught at midwicket for 16.
Ashwin, who got to bowl from the Pavilion End which has assisted the spinners, claimed one for 61 in 34 overs, while Jadeja picked up three for 32.
If India pick up a few more wickets and restrict Australia’s lead they could well end the day on a high.
This is only the second time that the Marsh brother — Shaun and Mitchell — are batting together in a Test match.
Kohli brings back Ishant to bowl the final over of the post-lunch session. Shaun Marsh goes across and looks for the flick but is hit high on the pads before he takes a single.
Ishant ends the session on a high for the Indians as he claims the wicket of Mitchell Marsh with the final delivery of the session.
Australia take the review but the ball is hitting the leg stump and the decision stands as Australia go into tea on 163 for five in 80 overs.
Ashwin seems to be tiring out as he comes on to bowl his 27th over of the day as we approach close to the tea interval.
He drops one short and wide and Marsh cuts it through point for a four to take his score to 35.
Handscomb tries to loft Jadeja but fails to get the elevation and Ashwin takes a good catch lunging full length to his right and holds on after a few juggles. Handscomb, who made 16, looked to break free and hit the spinners over the top but on this wicket it will always be dangerous to go over the top.
India’s bowlers have toiled hard and struck at regular intervals to keep their team in the hunt as Australia are reduced to 160 for four in 77 overs.
Jadeja once again show his utility as he picks up his third wicket, getting the wickets from the BEML despite Ashwin bowling from the pavilion End getting the better end of the pitch.

Ashwin from round the wicket got one to kick off from the length as Marsh is hit on the gloves as he is stunned by the extra bounce but it falls safely, away from silly point. The first time a ball has done something for Ashwin outside the off-stump from round the wicket. The next ball spins past the outside edge of the bat as Ashwin gives Marsh something to think about.
Peter Handscomb comes down the track and drives Jadeja through the off-side for a single to long-off followed by two more singles.
Handscomb looking to be busy and get the ones and twos. He goes across and paddle sweeps Ashwin to fine leg for two runs as Australia reach 143 for three in 72 overs, trailing India by 46 runs now.
Handscomb takes on Ashwin as he chips down the track and lofts him with the spin over midwicket for a four followed by three singles as Australia start to quickly approach India’s first inning score.
Handscomb repeats the shot against Jadeja, lofting him over midwicket for another four as Australia reach 156 for three in 75 overs.
Marsh also looks settled as he clips Umesh through midwicket for three runs as Australia slowly but steadily start to lift the tempo in the post lunch session.
The first hour of the post lunch session has gone Australia’s way with the visitors scoring 31 runs in 16 runs but importantly not losing a wicket.
They are 118 for two in 61 overs and now trail India by just 71 runs.
Ashwin gets one to turn sharply from way outside the leg stump and it ends up beating the bat and going past the off-stump, similar to the ball which got Warner.
Spin from both ends as Jadeja comes into the attack, to replace Umesh. Renshaw looking to use his feet as he is forced to defend the first three balls before he gets a single to deep midwicket off the fourth.
Jadeja fires one quick and flat as Marsh is beaten outside the off-stump as he looks to defend before he picks a quick single on the off-side. Renshaw again uses his feet and drives it down the ground to mid-on for another run.
Renshaw comes down the track and clips Ashwin through midwicket for a single and Marsh also gets a run three balls later.
It is that man again — Jadeja — who keeps India in the hunt with the key wicket of Renshaw. The left-hander hit Jadeja back over his head for a straight six before the left-arm spinner got revenge two balls later.
Renshaw again chipped down the track but this time Jadeja fired it down the leg side and wicketkeeper Saha did well to collect and whips off the bails in a flash.
Renshaw played an outstanding innings of 60, hitting five fours and a six in his 196- ball knock to keep the Indian bowlers at bay for most part of the second day.
Marsh looks to pull Umesh but fails to make connection as he seems to be too early into the shot. However, two balls later he gets it off the middle as he pulls it through square leg for a four.
Renshaw showing great powers concentration as he continues to defend solidly against Ashwin and slowly but steadily inches his way to another half-century.
Marsh looks to come forward but is struck on the pads by the incoming delivery from Umesh but the appeal for LBW is turned down with the impact outside the line. The left-hander then survives a shout for catch behind off the next ball as the umpire again turns it down and the Indians decide not to take the DRS with the ball clearly missing the bat by a long way.
Ashwin switches to round the wicket as Renshaw plays out a maiden over. However, in the off-spinner’s next over he comes down the track and lofts it across the line over midwicket for a four. He then turns the fifth ball of the over to bring up his half-century from 183 balls to register his second fifty in consecutive Tests.

Three maiden overs on the trot by Ashwin and Ishant before Renshaw takes a single off the former to end the sequence of dot balls. Marsh is caught in two minds as he looks to leave the big turning delivery from Ashwin but then decides at the last minute to play it and nearly ends up dragging it back to the stumps.
Australia are 90 for two in 50 overs and are trailing India’s score by 99 runs with eight wickets in hand.
Ashwin looking to turn the ball from outside the leg stump but Marsh sweeps it to the vacant fine leg region for a four. Two balls later, Marsh again goes for the sweep but misses and wicketkeeper Saha fails to collect to give away four byes which brings up Australia’s 100, in the 54th over.
Ashwin to kick off proceedings after the lunch break and he will bowl from over the wicket to the two left-handers.
Renshaw turns the third ball on the leg side for a single and Marsh also does the same off the last ball despite a slight hesitation between the two batsmen.

An absorbing session of Test cricket as India staged a great fightback to keep Australia in check and also pick two big wickets along the way.
Warner was bowled by Ashwin for 33 before Smith was caught by Saha off Jadeja for eight as Australia were reduced to 87 for two in 45 overs at the lunch break on Day 2.
Young left-hander Matt Renshaw battled hard to be unbeaten on a gutsy innings of 40 from 144 balls, while Shaun Marsh was not out on two.
Overall, India bowled a total of 29 overs, while just conceding just 47 runs to build up some pressure on the Australian batsmen.
All the four Indian bowlers bowled their hearts out on a wicket getting more and more difficult to bat.
India would be hoping to continue in the same vein after the lunch interval and claim a few more wickets.
Renshaw has no clue against Umesh, who continues to reverse the ball across him and continues to beat the tall left-hander.
Renshaw looks to sweep Jadeja but misses before he attempts it again and is beaten again.
Jadeja strikes in his next over with the BIG wicket of Smith, who gets an inside edge on to his pads and wicketkeeper Saha does well to lunge full length to his left and catch it on the leg side.
Smith never really got going as he scored just eight from 52 balls as India were finally rewarded for some superb bowling throughout the morning session.
Shaun Marsh gets off the mark with an easy single to long-off before Umesh sends down another maiden over, to Marsh.
Ashwin comes back, replacing Jadeja, who was taken off despite taking a wicket in his previous over.
Renshaw continues to be watchful as he defends the first three balls and then takes a single followed by two more singles off the last two balls.
Ishant comes back, to bowl the final over of the session, as Renshaw picks a single off the last ball to end the morning session.

Umesh getting the ball to shape in to Smith, who does well to get his bat down as the ball keeps low on a few occasions. Smith is taking the risk of playing on the backfoot but is defending well with the bat so far, infact the last ball stayed so low that Smith had to really get his bat down in time to keep it out.
Even Renshaw is playing with caution, to the merit of the ball, reading Ashwin’s variation quite well and looking to play it late.
Smith steals a quick single on the off-side off Umesh before Renshaw gets an outside edge past the slips for a four. He edges the next ball which again keeps low and goes on the bounce to the first slip fielder.
Umesh again gets the edge off the last ball which stays lows and goes off the ground past the slips for the second four of the over.
Finally, Australia manage to release some pressure with a couple of streaky boundaries to take the score to 70 for one in 33 overs.
Ashwin from round the wicket has not made the same impression or got the same amount of help to left-hander Renshaw as he was from over the wicket.
Ashwin switches to over the wicket to Renshaw, who clicks the second ball to fine leg for one.
Umesh also bowling a good spell with the ball as gets Renshaw to edge again but Virat Kohli at first slip is unable to take a low catch and also lets it go through for a four. Renshaw is all at sea against Umesh, who again gets one to go past the edge of the bat.
Finally, a break for Ashwin after a splendid spell of 10 overs in the morning session, during which he took one for eight and bowled five maiden overs.
He makes way for Ravindra Jadeja, who is picked for a single each by Smith and Renshaw as Australia reach 78 for one in 38 overs.
This is fun time out in the middle as Ishant and Smith engage in some banter. Ishant in the midst of a superb spell, complimenting Ashwin quite well from the other end.
Ishant has bowled tight and not conceded any runs from his end, allowing Ashwin to attack from the other end.
In between overs, the two captains — Smith and Kohli — had a brief chat and that could be about his exchange of words with Ishant.
Umesh Yadav comes in to replace Ishant, who bowled a superb spell in the morning session, and he also starts with a maiden to Smith.
Ashwin has a huge appeal for LBW turned down against Smith as he looks to swipe it on the leg side it but misses. The Indians decide to take the DRS after wicketkeeper Saha tells Ashwin the impact is in line.
However, the ball is clipping the outside half of leg stump which means that the decision stays with the umpire’s decision.
This is a terrific contest — the World No.1 bowler Ashwin against the World No. 1 batsman Smith and it is certainly living up to the hype.
At the drinks break, Australia have reached 61 for one in 30 overs, having scored just 21 runs in 15 overs in the first hour.
Renshaw has absorbed the pressure quite well to score 20 from 90 balls, while Smith is looking quite edgy on four.

Ishant keeping it wide outside the off-stump to Steve Smith, who leaves it alone in an exaggerated fashion that reminds commentator Sanjay Manjrekar of former West Indies great Courtney Walsh.
The fifth ball comes in sharply, striking Smith on the pads as the umpire turns down the LBW appeal. The Indians think about the DRS but captain Kohli rightly tells his bowler that the impact was high on the pads and they decide against it.
Ashwin switches to round the wicket as Renshaw watchfully defends another good over from the India off-spinner.
India have managed to dry up the runs and build some pressure. It remains to be seen if Smith is content to play with caution or take a few risks and release the pressure.
Smith shuffling across a long way to Ishant, who has come a bit closer to the stumps. The Australia captain taps one on the off-side and takes a quick single as Mukund at point is slow to get to the ball.
Renshaw is lucky as he offers no shot but unlike Warner the big turning delivery from Ashwin just go over his stumps. That was as lucky as it gets.
Renshaw and Smith then pick three singles off the last three deliveries off Ashwin as Australia reach 58 for one in 26 overs.
Matt Renshaw turns Ishant on the leg side for a single for his first runs on Day 2. Ishant bowls another poor delivery, short and wide, which Warner crashes through the off-side for another boundary.
An angry Ishant responds with a quick bouncer as Warner standing well outside his crease somehow manages to duck under it.
Ashwin has started off well quite here. Renshaw looks to defend but gets an inside edge which goes off his pads but goes over the short leg fielder before the left-hander manages to see off the rest of the over.
Ashwin finally strikes in his next over as he bowls an unplayable delivery to dismiss the dangerous Warner. It pitched well outside the leg stump, opening up Warner who looked to defend but missed it completely and was bowled for 33.
Steve Smith chips down the track and a misfield gets him a single to get him off the mark. Renshaw taking a big stride to reach the pitch of the ball and nullify the spin.
Ishant Sharma to open the bowling for India on Day 2 and facing him is the dangerous David Warner.
The first ball is a freebie as Ishant bowls it way down the leg side and all Warner has to do is to glance it fine for a boundary to help Australia make a confident start.

Ravichandran Ashwin from the other end and he starts from over the wicket. He is looking to land in the same areas where Nathan Lyon did on Day 1 and he seems to get some turn and bounce. He gets one to turn sharply, going past the edge of Warner’s bat to beat him but the appeal for caught behind is turned down.

Welcome to the coverage of Day 2 of the second Test between India and Australia in Bengaluru, on Sunday.
It’s a do-or-die morning session for the Indians, who would be keen to claim a few early wickets and try to make a comeback in the match. On the other hand, if Australia manage to see off the morning session without much damage it could set them on their way to a huge first innings score.
Day 1 belonged to off-spinner Nathan Lyon, who decimated world’s top-ranked team India at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to claim eight for 50, the best figures by an overseas bowler in India.
That helped Australia bundle out India for 189 and put the touring side in a strong position to dictate terms in the second match of the four-Test series.
KL Rahul was the only Indian batsman to get a grip of the conditions as he played a splendid innings of 90.
In reply, openers David Warner and Matt Renshaw were unbeaten on 23 and 15 respectively to guide Australia to 40 for no loss at stumps.
