In Amla village of Madhya Pradesh’s AgarMalwa district, villagers are unevenly distributed among two Members of Parliament (MP) and four tehsils. The residents are bearing the brunt of falling under four different tehsils as despite living in the same locality, they have to report their problems to different tehsildars and police stations.

The village falls under the limits of four tehsils (Agar, Susner, Nalkheda and Barod) and even the streets here represent different tehsils. People here vote for two Members of Parliament(MPs) and two Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) because of its demographic division.

The village was constituted in 2013 when AgarMalwa district was formed from a part of Shajapur district. Interestingly, with a population of around 1,300 people it has two MPs, two MLAs, four tehsildars, two CEOs, four police stations and two gram panchayats.

But the uniqueness and demographic condition of this village has become a problem for the inhabitants as they are not getting the basic facilities like drinking water supply, medical facilities, smooth roads etc.

In order to solve the water crisis here, the government recently announced the installation of a water tank. But, only half of the villagers will get the benefit of this facility because the other part of the village falls under different tehsil.
