New Delhi: Celebrities have joined both sides of the debate on social media over Delhi University student Gurmehar Kaur’s post taking on ABVP.
Two days after Kaur posted a picture holding a placard with “I am a Delhi University student, and I am not afraid of ABVP” written over it, the discourse is no more limited to a free woman expressing her views.
Celebrities — Randeep Hooda and Virender Sehwag being among the first few — reacted on social media even as the charges and countercharges continue to flow thick and fast.

Actress Pooja Bhatt was one of the latest ones to jump into the debate when she took a dig at Hooda and Sehwag on Tuesday morning.
“He who laughs last, laughs alone. Pick on someone your own size boys! This is so NOT cool!” she tweeted.

Lyricist Javed Akhtar also joined the fray on twitter and criticised Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju for having wondered who was “polluting” Kaur’s mind.
“I don’t about her but Mr Minister I know who is polluting your mind,” Akhtar tweeted, without naming Rijiju.

Stand-up comedian and columnist Ashish Shakya also took to twitter and stood shoulder to shoulder with Gurmehar Kaur.
“Hey @mehartweets, props to you for your composure today. Ignore the insect infestation here – it’s the most some people will ever amount to,” he wrote on twitter.
