Lok Sabha election results 2019 live: It`s BJP in Gujarat, wins 24 seats, leads in 2

Gandhinagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won all the 26 seats in Gujarat, where counting is currently underway. As per the morning trends on May 24, BJP has registered a thumping victory on the seats. Counting of votes is in progress in two seats – Ahmedabad West and Junagadh – from where BJP candidates are leading. 

Kirit Premjibhai Solanki is leading in Ahmedabad West seat with 3 lakh+ votes against Congress’ Raju Parmar while in Junagadh, Rajesh Chudasama is leading with over 1.5 lakh votes against Congress’ Punjabhai Bhimabhai Vansh.

Gujarat is Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah’s home state. Shah made his debut in Lok Sabha election from Gandhinagar, a seat previously held by BJP veteran leader LK Advani.

Shah’s debut proved to be a hit as he won Gandhinagar with 5,57,014 votes against CJ Chavda of the Congress. 

Counting for the 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat begun at 8 am on Thursday – May 23. In Gujarat, 371 candidates were in the fray. The main battle in Gujarat was between BJP and Congress. However, it was a clean sweep for the saffron party in Gujarat.

The key constituencies in Gujarat are Ahmedabad East, Ahmedabad West, Amreli, Anand, Banaskantha, Bardoli, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Chhota Udaipur, Dahod, Gandhinagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Kachchh, Kheda, Mahesana, Navsari, Panchmahal, Patan, Porbandar, Rajkot, Sabarkantha, Surat, Surendranagar, Vadodara and Valsad.
