Upset over poor Class 10 results, Fatehabad villagers lock gates of government …

Upset over the poor results in Class 10 Haryana board exams, residents of Bodhiwala village, in Fatehabad, locked the gates of the government high school in the village on Monday and demanded that the headmaster be changed.

The angry residents alleged that of the 81 students from the school who appeared for the exam, only 25 had passed.

“On Monday, we went to the school to talk to the headmaster, Mahender Singh, but he started misbehaving with the parents,” they told media persons.

The protesting villagers also staged a dharna and raised slogans against the school and administration.

As word about the villagers’ dharna spread, Bhattu block education officer (BEO) Sashi Prakash reached the spot and listened to their grievances.

“The villagers are demanding the headmasters to be changed. Their demand has been forwarded to higher authorities,” the BEO said.
