Bhartiya Janta Party objects to Kejriwal’s tweet on Holi: Aam Aadmi Party clari…

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused chief minister Arvind Kejriwal of allegedly hurting religious sentiments and flouting the model code of conduct.

Referring to a tweet by the CM depicting a man with a broom chasing a symbol (resembling a swastik), BJP MLA Vijender Gupta, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, said, “He (Kejriwal) is guilty of grossly violating the code of conduct by posting a cartoon depicting a man with broom (election symbol of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in hand chasing a swastik, which is held in great reverence by Hindus. The symbol is essential to every religious ceremony of Hindus but cartoon shared by Kejriwal makes fun of the swastik.”

Responding to the allegations, Ankit Lal, AAP social media and IT Cell head, tweeted: “As some people are confused, sharing these images for verification. Arvind Kejriwal’s tweet portrays the Nazi symbol and not our traditional Swastika as some are trying to pitch it as.” (sic)

BJP leaders said they are going to file a complaint in this regard with the Delhi chief electoral officer and the Delhi police commissioner on Saturday.
