One Army jawan died and four others are trapped under the snow after an avalanche hit the Shipkala sector of Himachal Pradesh along the India-China border.
Army sources said the avalanche hit the patrol party when it was moving between two posts on Wednesday.
Rescue operation by Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and district police is underway.
