4th Test updates: India make history in Australia as match called off

Aus 6-0 (4 ovs) and 300 (104.5 ovs) vs Ind 622-7dec | Scorecard

The 4th Test match has ended in a draw after it was abandoned due to rain and India have made history in Sydney, winning the Test series 2-1.

Rain washed away first session of play on Monday morning after fickle weather on day four prevented India from closing in on a big win in the fourth Test but they were well on course for their maiden series victory in Australia after forcing the hosts to follow-on at home for the first time since 1988.

Bad light and intermittent rain led to substantial loss of play with only 25.3 overs bowled on day four.

Australia were 6-0 in 4 overs after Kuldeep Yadav’s five-wicket haul in his maiden Test Down Under helped India bowl the home team out for 300 in the first innings.

Good morning and welcome to the updates from the final day of the 4th and final Test at the SCG on Sunday.

India need 10 Australia wickets to win the match and claim the series by a handsome 3-1 margin, however, with light rain in Sydney has once again delayed start of play.

The pitch has been covered and the skies overcast as Australia will hope their batsmen put up a fight to eke out a draw.
