Mulayam Yadav to campaign for two parties? Samajwadi Party and Lok Dal, say sou…

When Samajwadi Party (SP) patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav declared that he will canvass for his chief minister son Akhilesh Yadav, another political party — the Lok Dal — also announced him as its star campaigner.

“There should not be any confusion. On January 22, Netaji told us that he will campaign for the Lok Dal,” said Sunil Singh, national president of the party.

Singh said nearly 23 candidates of his party, who were not given tickets by Akhilesh, will contests polls on Lok Dal ticket. “In the days to come, many more leaders will file nominations from the Lok Dal. He (Mulayam) will campaign for all of them.”

Referring to Mulayam’s earlier statement that he will not campaign for the SP-Congress alliance, Singh said, “His statement still stands. He will not campaign for those seats where Congress candidates are contesting as part of the SP-Congress seat-sharing formula. He will also not campaign for all the candidates of the SP but only those who were nominated by him and later also declared candidates by Akhilesh.”

The first list of Lok Dal’s star campaigners have 14 names including Singh and three actors including Makrand Deshpande and comedian Rajpal Yadav.
