Sabarimala row Live: Woman journalist on trek upto temple with 150 cops, situation…

The Centre has asked the Kerala government to ensure peace across the state following protests against the Supreme Court order allowing women of all age groups to enter Sabarimala temple, officials said.

In an advisory, the Home Ministry said the maintenance of law and order, including providing security to women wishing to visit the temple, was the responsibility of the state government.

The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) will be meeting today to find a resolution to the Sabarimala row.

Kavitha, a woman multimedia journalist from Andhra Pradesh, has so far trekked 5 kms towards the temple. For the protestors to find it difficult to recognise her, she is moving in police uniform.

Around 150 cops are trekking along with Kavitha so as to give her a three-ring protection.
